Restorative Yoga Teacher Training

Weekend Workshop OR Online options

Do you need more rest in your life? Restorative yoga is the balance we need in our increasingly busy lives, to aid restoration and rejuvenation. It is a sequence of gentle and supported postures – often held for several minutes. In this deeply nourishing practice, the goal is to feel weightless and yet sink into the comfort of the earth. During the practice we can focus the mind on connecting with the breath and bring about a sense of stillness.

The IYTA offers both a two-day course AND an Online course, both are facilitated by senior yoga teacher Katie Brown. In this course you will learn a variety of postures and how best to use props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks to support all body types. You will also learn linking movements, sequencing, breathing techniques and meditation practices.

Restorative Yoga Face-to-face and Online courses both offer either a Certificate of Attendance (14 CPD points), or a Certificate of Completion (25 CPD points).

As a Graduate you will:

  • be able to plan a 1-hour restorative yoga class
  • set students up in restorative yoga poses and give benefits to specific ailments

Please note this is a post-graduate training, if you plan on teaching Restorative yoga classes you must already be a qualified yoga teacher before taking this course. If you wish to do the course for your own personal practice you can do it as a ‘certificate of attendance’.

Rachel Sands – Restorative Course Online, April 2021

I was truly delighted to do the Restorative Yoga training online with Katie Brown. Katie is a caring, supportive, knowledgeable teacher and a beautiful soul. The course covered Foundation and Advanced Restorative poses and Props, just the right amount of theory and ample demonstration and self practice. If you’re thinking of doing the Restorative Yoga course with Katie Brown, reward yourself and your practice and do it.

Maidi Murphy – Restorative Course Online, April 2021

I attended the post-graduate course in Restorative Yoga with Katie Brown from IYTA in Canberra in May 2021. The course was well organized with preparatory information, basic theory, demonstration, and practice of asanas with various options available. The discussion of class situations and creative sequencing with other participants was very useful.

I enjoyed Katie’s style of presentation and her warmth and inclusiveness. I recommend this training, and have immediately begun to incorporate the practices into my teaching. Cold Canberra Winter is an ideal time for more Restorative forms of Yoga!

Pam Bleakley – Restorative Course Canberra, May 2021

What a wonderful way to spend a cold weekend in Canberra. A room full of gorgeous Yogi’s with amazing insight and experience who were all happy and willing to share.

Katie was a beautiful presenter with patience and ease, and a wealth of information. She was always happy to impart and allow others to share as well.

Thank you and more please, Katie?
