The course consists of online pre-recorded lectures, chair yoga classes, and recommended reading, culminating in an online assessment.

As a Graduate you will:

  • be able to describe 8 aging and 8 common medical issues in senior yoga students and their ability to practice yoga safely
  • be able to show 10 Modifications to simple moves and 5 breathing techniques to support the aging body and lifestyle
  • be able to plan a 1-hour seniors chair yoga class, taking account of their holistic needs and safety

This course is suitable for Yoga Teachers and professional carers for seniors such as: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Doctors who wish to explore the safety aspects of teaching seniors with a focus on chair yoga.

About our Instructor

Beryl Broadbent

Beryl was born, educated and worked in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. She became interested in Yoga while having her first child (45 years ago) and went on to practice and study for many years. She sat for her Teaching Diploma with the International Yoga Teachers’ Association after her husband retired from the Airforce and their life on the road. She has always been interested in fitness and healthy living and has also done a Fitness Trainer Level 3 Course, Pilates Course, Aqua-aerobics Course, a Steady Steps Course and attended Tai Chi classes regularly.
