Neerim South VIC 3831

I have been practicing yoga in various forms for more than 30 years.

When I moved from Melbourne to country Victoria the thing I missed the most was attending yoga classes. The closest class was 40 kims away. I decided to do my teacher training to enhance my own home practice and to be able to bring the benefits of yoga to the people in my local community.

I have been teaching yoga in the Neerim district since May 2010. Many people who come along to a class have never tried yoga before while others have been practicing for a number of years. I therefore structure classes so that they are suitable for all levels of experience; from beginners through to those with a regular yoga practice. As yoga is an individual journey, there’s no competition, no hierarchy and no two bodies are the same. Yoga helps to develop awareness about what feels good and appropriate in each unique body while meeting challenges in a relaxed and mindful way.

While my own yoga journey has been a long one, it’s ongoing. I continue to study, learn and grow. As a younger woman I was very much focused on asana (the postures), and they continue to be a part of my daily routine so that I’m physically able to do the things I want to do in my life off the mat. Over the years I’ve delved deaper into the other elements of yoga. I’ve studied somatics, qigong, pranayama and meditation and weave these mindful practices into my classes.

I offer four 75-90 minute classes a week. Three of those classes occur surrounded by bush in Noojee. The Noojee studio has an outdoor screened and covered verandah space for the warmer months and a a cosy fire when it’s cooler. There’s space for a maximum of 7 making it not only a very peaceful but also personalised experience. I also offer one on one general flow class from the Orana Community Centre in Neerim South which provides a larger space allowing no cap on the number of participants.

Private sessions are also available.

I love yoga and the Neerim District is now developing it’s own yoga community.
